PHILOSOPHY OF FEROCE
The concept of Feroce was created when storied Italian restaurant Antica Pesa of Rome and Brooklyn, joined forces with renowned worldwide restaurant group TAO. Feroce, meaning ferocious in Italian, was inspired by the elegance and tradition of Italy, plus the energy and sophistication of Manhattan.
The philosophy behind Feroce is to share the authentic experience of Italian dining, where food is not only an essential part to the rhythm of daily life, but familiar and filled with rich traditions. The restaurant’s ferocious determination to share both the art of cooking and the art of eating from its Italian culture is the main pillar of Feroce. In Italy, the style of cuisine for almost every meal follows two simple principles, everything eaten is grown locally and is enjoyed at the height of its season. Feroce’s menu is reflective of this, where each dish becomes a symphony of finely tuned technique, memory, tradition and regionality, inspired by traditional recipes from various regions across Italy. All the recipes have been created and passed down from generations of Italians to showcase the beauty and quality of their local ingredients and showcased in dishes where they shine brightest. By revisiting traditional recipes and ideas from the Italian kitchen and infusing them with a contemporary influence of New York ingredients, Feroce is able to share the beautiful story behind each element of our menu. From elegant dishes prepared simply, to rich dishes with layered flavors, our menu emcompasses all of these familar Italian flavors beloved in New York.
Honoring our Italian traditions is paramount, and we do so by respecting every single ingredient, whether imported or grown locally, in addition to honoring the work of artisans, cheesemakers, farmers, butchers, and fishermen who so ferociously practice their vocation. Feroce’s menu evolves with each changing season, to highlight the distinct flavors of each ingredient present with simple recipes to tell the stories and highlight their terroir: air, soil, and water which they grew from. Our focus is on elevating the flavors of dish through a combination of fresh local ingredients from America, with the highest quality ingredients from Italy. By combining the imports of distinct Italian ingredients, with fresh local produce in New York, we are able to keep true to our Italian tradition of creating simple, quality dishes from love which let the flavors of each ingredient shine. Our team at Feroce has collaborated with chefs, farmers, and purveyors from both Italy and America to make sure the flavors created from artistry and love of food can be tasted with every bite, and truly highlight our devotion to our Italian culinary traditions.

Every element, from our food to our drink program has been created to highlight the best of each region of Italy. Our beverage program is crafted using our philosophy of Italian mixology, from apertivo to digestifs, to highlight the excellence and history of Italian drinking. By using historic brands and small producers from various regions of Italy, with a selection of recipes that are centuries old, we reflect the authentic and rich Italian history of mixology. Our wine list has been curated to highlight the quality and diversity of grape varietals, from one of the oldest and finest wine producing countries in the world, Italy. Every drink is a reminder of our tradition.
